ICI GC requires an Intermediate to Senior Estimator to join their team Up to $140K for the right personYour new companyHays Construction & Development is partnered with an ICI GC that is very well respected in Ottawa.In business for decades, they have been providing quality solutions to their clients in both tenant improvement as well as new builds.They're a dynamic and growing ICI construction firm specializing in fit-ups, tenant improvements, and new builds across Ottawa and surrounding regions. Projects range from $2M to $50M, with a sweet spot in the $10M–$20M range. They pride themselves on delivering high-quality work with a tight-knit team of professionals who value collaboration, integrity, and ambition.Your new roleAs an Estimator, you will have more than just a job, it’s a chance to grow into a leadership role and potentially become a future owner in the business. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include preparing detailed cost estimates for fit-up and tenant improvement projects ($2M–$5M) and new builds (up to $50M).You will be successful by:Collaborating closely with Project Managers and Site Superintendents to ensure accurate and timely estimatesParticipating in bid strategy, scope reviews, and subcontractor negotiationsSupporting business development and client engagement with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindsetWhat you'll need to succeedTo be considered for this vital job, you should have 5+ years of experience in ICI estimating (fit-ups, TI, and new builds), ideally in the Ottawa or Eastern Ontario area.You must have a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and market pricing and have excellent proficiency in estimating software and Excel.Excellent communication and teamwork skillsA growth mindset — someone who sees the big picture and wants to be part of building something long-termWhat you'll get in returnThere is a good compensation and benefits program for you with this company as well as the opportunity to become a key player in a small, agile team.Pathway to ownership for the right candidate along with a culture that values initiative, collaboration, and long-term vision
