Sheraton Ottawa Hotel is currently seeking a part-time Warewasher.

**This position requires ability to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays (as per seniority)

Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize all chinaware, glassware, silverware, flatware, pots, and pans in the hotel.
• Ensure restaurant and banquet kitchens have the required quantities of clean items to properly open their shifts, and ensure there are sufficient supplies and racks for collecting dirty dishes, silverware, pots, and pans.
• Ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness of all kitchens and food preparation areas, including ovens, grills, stoves, hoods, fryers, slicers, steam kettles, tables, and floors.
• Assist with the delivery and pickup of all food and beverage items to Banquets, Club Lounge, and the Staff Cafeteria.
• Work respectfully and carefully to minimize breakage.
• Responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the garbage room.
• Responsible for the disposal of all food and beverage waste, including garbage, composting, and recycling.
• Maintain regular attendance in accordance with established hotel standards.
• Perform work assignments and cleaning duties as determined by management based on operational needs.
• Communicate effectively within a team environment.
• Assist culinary staff with special requests or priorities as directed by the Chef de Partie, Food & Beverage Management, or Banquet Captain.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to stand and maintain steady mobility for up to 4 hours at a time.
• Must be able to bend, squat, and lift up to 50 lbs., including pots, pans, and trays of food, on a regular and ongoing basis.
• Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. regularly.
• Must be able to work efficiently in confined spaces and move throughout the hotel in a timely manner.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to complete cleaning tasks.
• Must be able to move efficiently between simultaneous tasks or functions.
• The work environment may involve noise levels requiring the ability to speak loudly to be heard.
• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, hearing, and visual acuity.
• Continuous talking and hearing are required for communication with guests, supervisors, and colleagues.
• Continuous visual focus is required, particularly close vision and depth perception.
• Requires manual dexterity to operate all necessary equipment safely and effectively.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22.52 per hour

Experience:
