Toronto, Ontario, Canada Alphawave Semi Full time

The Opportunity

We're looking for the Wavemakers of tomorrow.

Alphawave Semi enables tomorrow's future by accelerating the critical data communication at the heart of our digital world – from seamless video streaming to AI to the metaverse and much more. Our technology powers product innovation in the most data-demanding industries today, including data centers, networking, storage, artificial intelligence, 5G wireless infrastructure, and autonomous vehicles. Customers partner with us for mission-critical data communication, our innovative technologies, and our proven track record. Together, we enable the next generation of digital technology.

Alphawave Semi is seeking a Technical Program Manager to drive the end-to-end software and firmware development lifecycle across our next-generation connectivity IP and chiplet platforms. This role spans from early architecture and design to post-silicon bring-up, validation, and productization, bridging the worlds of analog/mixed-signal, digital, and system-level software integration.

As part of Alphawave Semi's Central R&D team, you'll lead complex cross-functional programs that underpin our high-speed SerDes, Ethernet, PCIe, and UCIe IP portfolio. You'll define and track key program metrics, align engineering execution and capacity across global teams, and ensure successful delivery of robust, high-performance software stacks for our silicon and system solutions.

If you thrive at the intersection of silicon development, embedded software, and program execution, and enjoy building the infrastructure that powers the world's most advanced connectivity technology, this is your opportunity to make an impact.

What you'll do:

· Own project schedule and execution tracking of baseline firmware development, regression progress, related customer dependencies and risk mitigation

· Define success metrics, drive work breakdown structures, and track progress with strong risk management and alignment strategies

· Oversee 18-month capacity plan view from FW/SW management and drive monthly capacity forum to align priorities with marketing & RnD

· Own timesheet and monthly execution reconciliation

· Define and drive process frameworks across teams for efficient and consistent execution and quality deliverables

· Own shift-left strategies and planning to de-risk bring-up and accelerate time-to-market

· Communicate clearly with executives, engineers, and stakeholders, balancing transparency with thoughtful tradeoff discussions

· Devise and co-manage multi-year software roadmaps and coordinate across silicon, firmware, and software teams

· Manage cross-team software handoffs and integrations, set up robust CI/CD and testing frameworks

What You'll Need

· Proven experience managing deeply embedded firmware / software teams

· 10+ years of experience in technical program management or chip-level engineering, with 2+ years in ASIC/complex IP systems

· Familiar with heterogeneous compute architectures (AI, CPU, memory, networking) and early software phases (architecture, pre-/post-silicon)

· Proven ability to manage 20+ engineer programs, cross-functional engineering, and full software stacks from bare-metal to infrastructure and testing

· Strong understanding of hardware-software codesign at IP, ASIC, and system levels

· Highly organized, adaptable, and expert in tools like JIRA, Linear, Git Issue trackers, Confluence, and fast-paced decision making

· Strong knowledge of version control systems (Git, SVN, etc.)

· Experience working with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Github Actions, GitLab CI, Bamboo, or similar

We have a flexible work environment to support and help employees thrive in personal and professional capacities.
