About Us
Bad Guy Motors is a fast-growing custom fabrication and performance shop specializing in diesel, truck accessories, and performance builds. We're a family-run business built on work ethic, honesty, and delivering quality results for our customers.
We're hiring a Service Writer / Office Assistant to manage customer communication, scheduling, estimating, supplier coordination, and daily office operations — while also helping convert leads into booked jobs. This role is the communication and organization hub of the shop.
Responsibilities
- Manage incoming leads, calls, emails, and social media messages
- Greet and assist customers both in person and online
- Create estimates and invoices in Shopmonkey
- Schedule jobs and maintain timelines
- Keep customers updated throughout their job or build
- Track parts orders and communicate with suppliers
- Maintain accurate job notes and documentation
- Assist with general office administration
- Support ownership and shop staff as needed
- Assist in the shop occasionally when required (must be willing to roll up your sleeves when needed)
This role connects customers, sales, and technicians — and helps keep workflow moving smoothly.
Sales & Communication Duties
- Discuss services confidently with customers
- Help qualify leads and convert estimates into approved work
- Follow up on open estimates and opportunities
- Maintain a professional, friendly customer experience
What We're Looking For
- Reliable, accountable, and professional
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Comfortable working in a busy trades environment
- Sales or service writing experience is an asset
- Shopmonkey or service software experience is an asset
- Automotive (Diesel) experience is an asset
- Willing to get your hands dirty when needed
- Adaptable — we are growing and improving systems continuously
Work Schedule
Monday to Friday
8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
On-site in Medicine Hat, AB
Compensation
- $20–23/hour to start (depending on experience)
- Bonuses paid on successfully closed sales
- 90-day performance review with potential wage increase

- Opportunities to attend truck shows and industry events with the team
Bonus Eligibility Rule:
Bonuses are only paid on fully-paid, closed invoices for customer jobs directly sold or managed by the Service Writer. If work is cancelled, unpaid, refunded, or discounted as goodwill/warranty, the bonus does not apply. Bonuses are paid monthly.
