Job Summary: McKesson is on a journey to advance its usage of Artificial Intelligence to advance patient outcomes for all.  As a result of this focus, we are seeking a highly motivated Data Governance Analyst to participate in initiatives that ensure responsible and effective use of data across AI, analytics, and operational platforms. This role will be instrumental in shaping data governance frameworks (AI/ML Models, Structured Data, and Unstructured Data) that support advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI-driven decision-making, while ensuring compliance, quality, and data foundations are AI ready.

Job Responsibilities:

  • In support of assigned segments, support business data or subject area stewards, facilitate inter-segment collaboration on data improvements, advocate for data quality and documentation initiatives, and demonstrate competence in using data cataloging software and standard office software applications.

  • Works independently on assignments and projects; makes recommendations on new or improved processes, procedures and workflows.

  • Ensures compliance with data governance policies, standards & procedures.

  • Maintains knowledge of applicable local, state and federal/national statutes and guidelines.

  • Performs moderate research, collection, analysis, interpretation and reporting of metadata and its usage to advance Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) efforts.

  • Assembles and maintains records, reports, files and other documents required for data governance activities.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum requirement - Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.
 

Critical Skills:

  • 1-2 years' experience in Data Governance

  • 2-3 years' experience in Data Management

  • Proficiency with modern Data Cataloging/Metadata Management tools.

  • Proficiency with MS Office products (including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), Internet applications, and electronic medical record systems.

  • Strong understanding of data management principles and data governance frameworks.

  • Familiarity in data quality tools and techniques.

  • Knowledge of relevant data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while meeting established deadlines.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and external vendors. Ability to pass pre-employment testing.

  • Certification: CDMP, RHIA, CCS, CPC, or other health information management or data management certification preferred

Working Conditions:

Environment (Office, warehouse, etc.) –

  • Traditional office environment.

Physical Requirements (Lifting, standing, etc.) –

  • Large percentage of time performing computer based work is required.

Travel Involved- 5 %

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$74,100 - $123,500
