Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic
Team Lead
for our
Toronto SME Commercial Risk Placement
. In this role, you will be a senior resource and mentor to the team, while managing a book of commercial clients. You will be responsible for creating, securing, and delivering high-quality insurance programs.

Primary Responsibilities
- Active Senior Resource for Commercial SME Risk Placement Brokers
- Handle files escalations
- Participate in the development and growth of individual team members
- Effectively service a book of assigned commercial clients
- Work effectively with Sales and Senior Account Managers
- Complete coverage gap analysis
- Effective cross selling and up selling
- Negotiating valued insurance programs for our commercial clients
Qualifications Required
- RIBO license, active and in good standing, is required
- Minimum three years of commercial insurance brokerage experience
- Minimum three years experience in a Team Lead position
- Knowledge of specialty products and/or segment needs would be an asset (e.g. Cyber, D&O, E&O, etc.)
- Other industry qualifications, such as CAIB, CIP, CRM, etc., would be considered an asset
- Post-secondary education would be considered an asset
Skills & Attributes Required
- Exceptional customer service skills with strong business acumen
- Sales-driven approach to account management, the ability to identify coverage gaps, and upsell/cross-sell
- Strong analytical skills
- Must be a team player and have a strong work ethic
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
- Organized with effective time management skills
- Self-directed and able to coordinate multiple placements for large multi-line accounts
- Ability to use creativity in structuring product proposals and documentation
- Advanced computer skills with experience in MS Office, EPIC, Applied Systems.
Compensation Range:
$85,000 – $125,000 annually (may include variable commissions)
Compensation is based on a full-time 35-hour work week and will be dependent upon the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
