District Sales Manager – Ontario
Reporting to the Regional Vice President of Sales and Customer Care, the Ontario utility focused Sales Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining business within the Ontario utility market for all G&W product lines as a member of the Canadian Sales team. A strong focus for this market is on padmount, vault and overhead distribution switchgear with distribution automation technologies, however, includes all products in the G&W portfolio. The Sales Manager will be representing G&W to all levels of our utility customers (standards, asset management, planning, grid modernization) and all levels of management to maintain and expand existing accounts and establish new opportunities for growth.
As a District Sales Manager you will:
Maintain and establish new relationships within the Ontario utility markets; Use industry, technical, social networking or other skills in order to identify and build the utility business portfolio.
Determine market segmentation and key target accounts; determine key decision makers and build customer relationships.
Coordinate sales efforts with sales organization and marketing.
Leverage key relationships as needed to identify emerging trends, needs and solutions; communicate this information in a clear and concise format to product development teams for further investigation and integration into G&W new product development.
Build, maintain, coordinate and manage your opportunity pipeline for geographic area of responsibility.
Conduct sales / technology presentations, technical design discussions, drawing reviews and order negotiations.
Assist application engineers with quote preparation on both technical and commercial requirements.
Optimize schedule to most efficiently balance time, travel and sales calls.
Submit monthly territory reports.
Align specifications to customer needs with G&W products.
Develop long lasting relationships between G&W and all segments of the Ontario utility market.
We are looking for someone who:
- Must have strong interpersonal and leadership skills for building linkages to external customers that lead to current and future business.
- Bachelor's Degree or CET (Certified Engineering Technologist) in a technical or closely related discipline
- At least 5+ years of proven experience working within the Ontario utility market
- Strong knowledge of electrical utilities industry
- Solid communication skills, both written and oral, analytical capabilities, and technically proficient
- Proficiency with personal computer, Microsoft Office, Salesforce and standard business software
- CSA code knowledge is considered an asset
- Must have the ability to travel throughout the designated region including the United States
