We're Vancity, a member-owned credit union built on the principles of inclusion and social justice. Since 1946, our relentless commitment to these values has helped us challenge the status quo and break down barriers. We've made bold commitments to become net-zero by 2040 across all mortgages and loans, and we're actively pursuing strategies in Indigenous banking and financial resilience for our members.
As the largest private sector Living Wage Employer in Canada, we're proud to be consistently recognized as one of the country's Top Employers. If you're ready to join our team of 2,300 diverse individuals, access competitive rewards and benefits, and be part of a greater movement - apply today
Your Role in Supporting Our Members:
As Manager, Process Optimization, you will help create the conditions for our people and members to thrive by removing friction from frontline work and modernizing how we operate with care and intention. By thoughtfully leveraging data, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and AI-driven tools, you will reduce repetitive work and turnaround times across lending, onboarding, and account servicing, allowing frontline teams to spend more time building meaningful member relationships.
This is a permanent, full-time role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office. This role may require you to work in-office at least once a week.
How You'll Make an Impact:
- Establishing and leading the process optimization function, setting the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap for operational transformation
- Designing and delivering enterprise-wide process improvement initiatives using data analytics, automation, AI, and structured change management methodologies
- Partnering with business and frontline leaders to identify, prioritize, and execute high-impact optimization opportunities that reduce administrative burden and unlock capacity
- Modernizing end-to-end workflows across both front- and back-office processes to support increased volumes driven by member growth
- Leveraging automation and AI solutions to reduce cycle times, improve accuracy, and increase consistency across lending, onboarding, and account servicing
- Defining and tracking success metrics, ensuring initiatives deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, cost, turnaround time, and member experience
- Building, coaching, and leading a high-performing team, fostering capability development and strong execution
- Championing a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence by sharing best practices and driving adoption across the organization
What You'll Bring to the Team:
- Proven experience leading process optimization, operational excellence, or transformation initiatives in a complex organization
- Strong understanding of automation, AI, and workflow technologies, and how to apply them pragmatically to real business problems
- Experience partnering with frontline, operational, and technology teams to drive change in regulated or high-volume environments. Experience in banking and financial institutions is an asset.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to define, interpret, and act on performance metrics
- People leadership experience, with a track record of building and developing engaged, high-impact teams
- Strong change leadership skills-able to influence, align, and bring others along through transformation
You'll Thrive Here If You Are:
- Thoughtfully innovative - You leverage automation, RPA, and AI in ways that are ethical, responsible, and supportive of people's work.
- Collaborative and people-centred - You partner closely with frontline teams, leaders, and technology partners to co-create solutions that actually stick.
- Data-informed - You utilize insights and metrics to guide decisions, track progress, and demonstrate real outcomes.
- Change-oriented - You lead transformation with empathy, clarity, and strong change management practices.
We value lived experience, so if you are interested in this role, we encourage you to apply even if you feel your skills don't perfectly align with those listed.
What You'll Earn:
This role offers a salary range of $81,200 - $113,000. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
