Snow Plow Operator

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Snow Plow Operator to efficiently clear snow and ice from designated Parking lots, and walkways during winter months. The ideal candidate will have experience operating snow removal equipment and possess a strong understanding of safety protocols. This role is essential for maintaining safe and accessible environments during inclement weather conditions, ensuring the safety of the community and property.
Responsibilities
- Operate snow plow trucks and related machinery to remove snow and ice from roads, parking lots, sidewalks, and other surfaces.
- Perform pre-operation inspections on equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
- Apply salt or sand as needed to improve traction and prevent ice formation.
- Monitor weather conditions continuously to plan effective snow removal strategies.
- Maintain detailed records of completed work and equipment maintenance.
- Conduct routine maintenance on plow equipment, including mechanical checks and minor repairs using hand tools or power tools.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents or injuries during snow removal operations.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding operational status and any issues encountered.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating snow plow trucks or similar heavy machinery.
- Mechanical knowledge related to construction, irrigation, gardening, horticulture, landscape maintenance, or general maintenance is a plus.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic equipment maintenance.
- Knowledge of excavation, construction, or landscape maintenance is advantageous.
- Ability to work in cold weather conditions for extended periods.
- Strong attention to safety protocols and procedures.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team during early mornings, evenings, or adverse weather conditions.
