Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and support to individuals in assisted living, nursing homes, and home care settings. This role involves working closely with seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialized care, including dementia and hospice care. The Support Worker will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalized assistance and companionship.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care and support to clients in various settings, including assisted living facilities and homes.
  • Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation of medication administration.
  • Support clients with mobility needs, including heavy lifting when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
  • Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs.
  • Monitor clients' health status and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel.

Skills

  • Experience in assisted living, nursing home settings, or senior care is preferred.
  • Knowledge of patient care techniques, including hospice care and dementia care.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities and diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong caregiving skills with a focus on empathy and compassion.
  • Proficiency in cleaning practices to maintain a hygienic environment for clients.
  • Basic nursing skills are a plus; familiarity with medication administration is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact positively with clients and their families.
