Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Host to create a welcoming environment for our guests. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for visitors, ensuring they receive exceptional customer service from the moment they arrive. This role requires excellent communication skills, a polished appearance, and the ability to manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently. Experience in hospitality or food service is preferred, but a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills are essential. The Host/Host plays a vital role in enhancing the overall guest experience and supporting smooth restaurant operations.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage their seating preferences
  • Answer phone calls with professional phone etiquette and assist with reservations or inquiries
  • Maintain a clean and organized host stand area
  • Manage waitlists and communicate estimated wait times effectively
  • Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and service
  • Handle guest concerns or special requests courteously and efficiently
  • Operate POS systems such as Micros POS to process reservations or takeout orders when necessary
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness standards in the dining area and host station
  • Support team members to ensure seamless restaurant operations during busy periods

Skills

  • Strong guest services and customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
  • Previous experience in serving, hospitality, or food service is advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of POS systems, particularly TouchBistro POS, is preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional phone etiquette for handling reservations and guest inquiries
  • Hospitality or restaurant experience is a plus, including hotel experience for versatile skill application
  • Ability to work well within a team and adapt to changing priorities
