About the OpportunityUnder the direction of the Manager of the Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) Department, the Team Leader oversees the daily delivery of instrumentation and supplies to the Operating Rooms (OR's). S/he collaborates regularly with the OR Supervisor/Charge Nurse to ensure efficient and timely delivery of instrumentation and supplies so patient care is not impacted. The Team Leader coordinates with and communicates operational issues to the MDR supervisor and provides direction and support to the Medical Device Reprocessing Technicians working in the OR and in OR processing. In addition, this individual is responsible for reviewing and advising manufacturer's instructions (MIFU's) for instrumentation. The Team Leader participates in the ordering and repair process for instrumentation. S/he may also be required to participate in the interview process.
About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Grade XII plus a recognized Medical Device Reprocessing Technician course is required
- Current MDRT certification is required
- If there are no certified candidates, other applicants will be considered and must completed the certification within the first three (3) months of starting in the position
- Three (3) to five (5) years' experience in MDRA with extensive knowledge in the following OR service; Ortho/Spine, Neuro, Cardiac/Vascular, General, Plastics
- Current successful scope competency assessment
- Previous MDR charge experience
- Extensive knowledge of immediate use steam sterilization using one tray
- Extensive knowledge of an OR Case Cart System
- Knowledge of ordering/tracking and arranging repairs of OR instruments
- Experience working with computer systems; experience with HSM, PHS SPD Manager Program, SharePoint, Excel and Word
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making abilities
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and comprehension skills
- Demonstrated organizational skills and a high degree of initiative and self motivation
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
- knowledge of Infection Control measures and Routine Practices
- Extensive knowledge of CSAZ314:23 preferred

Hours- Permanent Full-time Position; 75 Hours Bi-weekly
$ $28.22 hourly
