Position

Underground Production Miner – III, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Supervisor, Underground Production, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

• Safe and efficient operation of underground mining equipment including, but not limited to: scooptram (6yd, 8yd and 10yd), haul truck (30t and Slt), and underground LV, in accordance with site standard operating procedures;
• Complete thorough pre/post-operational inspections of equipment, reporting deficiencies or damage to the Shift Supervisor;
• Perform many aspects of production mining including, but not limited to:

o Pre and post blast inspections

o Ore and waste haulage

o Recognizing ground conditions and following protocol when poor ground conditions are encountered

o Mucking out development rounds

o Stope loading, timing, and blasting according to design

o Accurate and timely reporting of shift details to the Shift Supervisor

• Maintain a high level of housekeeping in the underground mine; and
• Take direction from Underground Supervisors and collaborate with the supporting teams in a respectful manner.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

• 3 years of underground production mining experience with a demonstrated high level of proficiency in relevant tasks.
• Experience with Sandvik AutoMine tele-remote system, LHDs and haul trucks is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated portfolio of competency in the use of scooptram (6yd, 8yd and 10yd), haul truck (30t and Slt), and underground LV.
• Valid Standard First Aid certificate.
• An approval letter from the Explosives Regulatory Division (ERD) is considered an asset.

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $133,666.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $48.50 and overtime rate of $72.75) in a work year.
