BIM Technologist-Electrical

Work as part of a collaborative team developing three dimensional BIM (Building Information Modeling) MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) models.
Preparation of drawings/models for fire alarm, lighting, power, and electrical systems.
Contribute to the design of plans, preliminary estimations and details with the use of the guidelines for the projects with adherence to company drafting and engineering standards.
Run Navisworks to perform clash detection and/or manage Navisworks process associated with clash detection.
Perform necessary calculations and ensure plans correspond to relevant safety codes/standard(s).
Assist in the training of other staff members in AutoDesk Architecture Engineering Construction Collection including Revit MEP & Navisworks.
Other duties relevant to the position, as assigned.
Overtime as required

Qualification, Experience, and Education:

Experience working in an engineering services environment is an asset
Experience preparing electrical equipment Revit families would be an asset
The position requires the incumbent to have competence with a variety of computer software including high proficiency with Revit (BIM), experience with AutoCAD.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Package (Work, Excel, PowerPoint)
Understanding of building systems, interference coordination with other building elements, function, and 3D visualization is considered as an asset
Mechanical and Electrical knowledge would be an asset
Ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverables
Ability to communicate and work well with other departments
Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure on single/multiple tasks
Strong attention to detail
Team and client-focused
Completion of a college program in Drafting or Electrical Engineering Technology
