We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Sanitation Lead to oversee and coordinate cleaning and custodial operations across our facilities. This vital role ensures a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for staff, visitors, and clients alike. As a Sanitation Lead, you will supervise cleaning teams, manage sanitation schedules, and uphold the highest standards of cleanliness in line with industry regulations. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise cleaning staff to ensure all sanitation tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules for various areas including restrooms, kitchens, hallways, and specialized spaces such as laundry or hospitality zones.
- Train team members on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and the use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to verify cleanliness, identify areas for improvement, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, janitorial equipment, and laundry products; place orders as needed to maintain stock levels.
- Coordinate with management to prioritize sanitation needs during different shifts or special events.
- Document sanitation activities through reports and logs; address any issues promptly to minimize disruptions.
- Foster a positive team environment through leadership, motivation, and clear communication; promote adherence to company policies and standards.
- Support hospitality or housekeeping management tasks when necessary, including guest room cleaning or event setup in hotel or hospitality settings.
- Ensure all sanitation procedures align with industry best practices for commercial cleaning, custodial services, and hotel/hospitality standards.
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience in janitorial services, custodial work, or related fields within commercial or hospitality environments.
- Strong background in cleaning techniques, including general sanitation, laundry processes, and specialized cleaning tasks.
- Demonstrated management skills with the ability to lead teams effectively while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to sanitation practices; ability to enforce safety protocols consistently.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to develop schedules, manage supplies, and keep detailed records.
- Leadership qualities that inspire teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Previous experience in hotel or hospitality settings is highly desirable; familiarity with housekeeping management is a plus.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning duties that may involve lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and operating cleaning machinery.
