About The Opportunity

Position Summary
The operator is the lead person on the J&L Specialty Folder/Gluer. They are responsible for the overall safety, condition, and productivity of their machine. The following is a list of the recommended responsibilities of the operator. They range from a general spectrum, to specific steps. Always follow the safety guidelines as listed in the Operator's Manual. All crew members are responsible for ensuring the quality of every order is verified and initialed.

Essential Job Functions

The following duties are normal for this position.  The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties however; it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Operate machine at efficiency standards levels set by Menasha

  • Verify the production order and communicate with all crew members

  • Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections, direct team members, rotate positions when needed

  • Set up machine for proper fold and glue, maintain a clean work area

  • Save new order and load existing orders, check quality and for correct register

  • Monitor incoming stock and product after being die cut to meet and maintain Menasha's and customer's quality standards.

  • Periodically perform visual inspections up and down the machine while running. Make changes as needed

  • Repair or assist maintenance in the repair of the machine as necessary

  • Inform supervisor/maintenance of any and all issues encountered

  • Check finished product for quality per customer specifications

· Ensures and supports to make sure Food safety, Quality, HACCP and GMP is always followed

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • High school math, reading and writing skills, good communication skills

  • Able to read measuring tape/ ruler with speed and accuracy.

Education & Experience

· High School Diploma or Equivalent

 

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

· Primarily works in a factory and/or warehouse setting, must have good color perception

  • Must be able to gather cartons up to 40 lbs.  and twist to feed them into the bundler

  • Frequent bending, lifting, and walking, ability to stand 8 hours
