Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Category Management Specialist on a temporary basis (up to 16 months) basis on our Food team. This position is a hybrid opportunity and is based in Saskatoon SK.

Join our team to help drive category growth and retail success across the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS). In this role, you'll support product assortment planning, marketing execution, and pricing strategies. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure timely execution of promotions, category reviews, and product launches. Your insights will help shape strategic decisions and enhance both National and Store Brand performance. What you'll do:

  • Manage end-to-end setup, updates, and maintenance of product listings, supplier data, and marketing documentation to ensure accuracy and alignment with category strategy.
  • Assist in category reviews, product assortment decisions, and supplier negotiations using business intelligence tools to drive sales growth and profitability.
  • Coordinate promotional strategies, flyer inputs, and pricing activities with suppliers and internal teams to support marketing initiatives and ensure smooth execution.
  • Act as the key communication link between the Category Manager and Shared Services teams, ensuring alignment on strategy, scheduling, and documentation.
  • Research consumer trends, suggest new items, and collaborate with pricing and procurement teams to support promotional pricing and achieve business targets.

The Team: Reporting into a Category Manager you will collaborate closely with Private Brands, Shelf Management, Pricing and Promotion teams as well as the Zone Operations team. This team strives to cultivate a culture of collaboration, problem-solving and team building.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Category Management and :

  • You have 1-3 years of relevant experience. Retail experience is an asset (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
  • You have a bachelor's degree in business or marketing.
