Project / Operations Coordinator – Electrical Contracting

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project / Operations Coordinator to join our growing electrical contracting team. This role is essential in supporting residential and small commercial electrical projects through effective scheduling, materials coordination, documentation management, and communication. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative and coordination skills, familiarity with job management software, and the ability to manage multiple active jobs simultaneously.

This position plays a key role in ensuring smooth project execution from booking to completion while working closely with the owners, field technicians, suppliers, and customers. Candidates will have the opportunity to contribute to operational improvements within a fast-paced, growing company.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily and weekly schedules for electricians and apprentices to ensure timely completion of projects
• Create and manage digital job files including scope details, photos, permits, and inspection records
• Utilize job management software such as Jobber for scheduling, dispatching, and tracking project progress
• Support material procurement by preparing material lists, placing orders, and coordinating deliveries with suppliers
• Communicate regularly with customers, general contractors, and the field team to provide updates and resolve issues
• Monitor timelines and ensure that job tasks stay on track using effective time-management techniques
• Maintain accurate project documentation including change orders, site notes, and customer correspondence
• Coordinate inspections, permit requirements, and site access logistics
• Support the implementation of company quality standards and ensure all job information is organized and accessible

Skills

• Proficiency with job management and scheduling tools such as Jobber (or similar platforms)
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with field staff, customers, and suppliers
• Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to a fast-paced environment with frequent scheduling changes
• Comfortable interpreting job notes, scopes of work, material lists, and basic construction documentation
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate digital records
• Experience in construction, electrical, or trades-based environments is highly valued
• Ability to work independently, be proactive, and solve problems as they arise

The position is primarily home-based, with regular travel to job sites, suppliers, and team meetups across Ottawa as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
