Job Description:
We're looking for a Senior Financial Analyst – Store Operations (18-Month Contract) to drive strategic decision-making through impactful financial analysis. Partnering closely with Store Operations leadership, you'll drive initiatives that enhance workforce efficiency, optimize payroll forecasting, and support capital planning. What You'll Do:
- Leverage a variety of data sources and partner with the Store Operations department to perform complex data and trend analysis; analyses support leadership in making informed, timely decisions regarding store activities (e.g. payroll, discretionary expenses).
- Prepare payroll budgets, Rolling Plan, and Original Plan demonstrating an in-depth understanding of business trends and impacts; collaborates with multiple business units to ensure all store attributes and assumptions are incorporated.
- Act as trusted advisor to business partners by providing financial support for workforce efficiency projects via manipulating (and/or developing) payroll models and finding new ways to enhance forecast accuracy.
- Prepare and present payroll reporting to senior leaders across Store Operations and Finance departments.
- Lead the Store Operations capital budgeting, monthly forecasting, and reporting.
- Develop complex business models and conduct ad hoc analysis to facilitate decision-making for short and long-term strategy.
About You:
- A minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in financial planning, reporting and analysis; financial experience in a retail industry is an asset.
- Post-secondary education in related field (e.g. Business Administration, Mathematics/Statistics, Finance/Accounting); a related professional designation (i.e. CPA or MBA) is considered an asset.
- Excellent knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), cost accounting, and retail operations.
- Advanced problem-solving skills including analysis of information, research, and knowledge of database design/data manipulation concepts
- Strong organizational skills including change management, time management, the ability to prioritize and multi-task with limited supervision and under time pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, accurately estimate time required to complete deliverables, and keep appropriate people informed of progress.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; able to develop collaborative relationships with team, internal, and external partners and effectively resolve conflicts that may arise.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, knowledge of accounting software, previous experience utilizing data analytics and budgeting tools (e.g. TM1, Hyperion, Anaplan, Alteryx, Power Bi).
- Genuine interest in continuous learning and development; excited to take on new challenges and volunteer for ad-hoc projects.
