About the Role
Join our Toronto team as a Technical Support Specialist, providing first-line assistance to business clients using VoIP phone systems. This on-site position offers hands-on experience with modern telecom technology in a supportive environment. Regular Monday-Friday schedule with optional paid overtime opportunities.
What You'll Do
Handle incoming support requests via phone, email, and chat, resolving VoIP and network-related issues for business customers. Manage support tickets from intake to resolution, ensuring clients receive timely assistance. Diagnose call quality problems, connectivity issues, and system configurations. Set up phone system features, including extensions, voicemail, and call routing. Provide occasional on-site visits to Toronto-area businesses for installations and training. Document solutions and maintain our internal knowledge base. Coordinate with technical teams on escalated issues.
What We're Looking For
- Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting
- Basic understanding of network concepts (IP addresses, routers, switches)
- Excellent communication skills - you can explain technical topics in simple terms
- Customer-focused attitude with patience and empathy
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple tasks
- High school diploma required; IT/telecom education is a plus
Nice to Have
- Previous experience with VoIP phones or PBX systems
- Familiarity with ticketing systems like Zendesk or Freshdesk
- Knowledge of Linux or cloud platforms
- Technical certifications (CompTIA, CCNA, etc.)
