*As an Accountant, Privately Held Business Group your responsibilities will include:*

• Working with a broad range of small business clients
• Preparing year-end financial statements and working paper files, review and notice to reader engagements
• Accounting and bookkeeping including drafting journal entries and reconciling accounts
• Regular preparation of tax filings including personal, corporate and trust returns
• Providing solutions to our clients on current business and financial conditions
• Working closely with clients and providing exceptional client service
• Working with clients in target industry sectors under varying reporting frameworks
• Building our reputation as the preferred business advisors in key sectors of our growing practice

Think You've Got What It Takes To Be An Accountant, Privately Held Business Group? Like The Colour Purple? Great. Here's a Few More Boxes We're Also Hoping You Can Tick

• Accounting diploma or certificate or equivalent experience in this field
• 1-3+ years public practice experience preferred
• Experience with Caseware, Taxprep, QuickBooks and Simply Accounting is preferred
• Proficiency with MS Office applications including Excel, Word and Outlook
• Strong bookkeeping and organizational skills
• Solid analytical skills including ability to identify unusual transactions or accounts and ask questions to clarify understanding
• Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Client service focus, demonstrated initiative and a team player
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong commitment to excellence and attention to detail
• Experience with HST regulations and returns an asset
