Position Summary
Calgary Wild FC is seeking a strategic, revenue-driven Senior Director, Partnerships & Sales to lead the organization's commercial sales engine. This role will oversee corporate partnership and ticketing sales strategy, with a focus on business development, retention, and overall sales performance. The Senior Director will build and execute the club's partnership and ticketing sales strategy, secure impactful corporate relationships, drive ticket revenue with ticketing operations manager, and ensure the organization meets its commercial targets. This is a hands-on role that will source, pitch and close on opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate Partnerships
- Own the full lifecycle of partnership development, including prospecting, pitching, negotiating, closing, and renewal.
- Develop and execute the club's multi-year partnership sales strategy and revenue plan.
- Manage and grow a pipeline of local, regional, national and international business prospects.
- Collaborate with external sales agency and internal departments to create compelling partnership assets and integrated platforms.
- Oversee partnership fulfillment to ensure deliverables are met and partners receive measurable value.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing partners, driving renewal, upsell, and long-term retention.
Ticketing & Revenue
- Oversee the club's ticketing revenue strategy across season tickets, partial plans, groups, and single-game sales, working closely with the Manager of Ticketing Operations.
- Set annual ticketing revenue targets, pricing models, and promotional campaigns.
- Track sales performance and adjust strategies to meet or exceed revenue expectations.
Sales Leadership & Strategy
- Lead overall commercial sales planning and forecasting for partnerships and ticketing.
- Establish clear KPIs, sales processes, and reporting practices across the department.
- Develop sales materials, pitch decks, rate cards, and proposals with compelling storytelling and data.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Community, and Operations to align commercial initiatives with club priorities.
- Represent Calgary Wild FC at business events, networking functions, and industry conferences.
Qualifications & Experience
- 8+ years
of progressive experience in corporate partnerships / sponsorship sales, experience in sports, entertainment or events will be considered an asset
- Demonstrated success securing major sponsorships and multi-year revenue partnerships.
- Proven track record of building and managing high-performing sales teams and systems.
- Strong negotiation skills with experience building complex, multi-asset sponsorship deals.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and sales analytics tools.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strategic thinker with a data-informed approach to revenue generation.
- Comfortable representing the club externally with business leaders, stakeholders, and community partners.
