Youth Housing Program offers Community Group Care that journeys with youth aged 13 to 17 years old that have complex needs and require trauma-informed, developmentally responsive, therapeutic milieu care environments that can safely and successfully meet their care needs.

As a Lead Youth Worker, you are responsible for supporting the overall safety, development and well-being of the youth through individualized care, relational practice and case management. Working collaboratively with the youths Care Team to support their spiritual, physical, emotional and mental wellness, while actively promoting life skills development, wellness and meaningful family involvement. As a Lead Youth Worker, you will ensure delivery of the high-quality case management and planning for the youth's positive transition to young adulthood. 

Schedule: 4 on 2 off  - 11:30pm to 8:00am

As a Lead Youth Worker, you will:

Support the overall safety, development, and well-being of youth through individualized care and relational practice.Build trusting, respectful, and supportive relationships with youth using strength-based and trauma-informed approaches.Lead daily routines and activities that promote life skills, recreation, and self-care.Guide the Caregiver Team in creating a structured, nurturing environment that supports youth's spiritual, emotional, physical, and mental wellness.Collaborate with the youth's Care Team to develop and monitor individualized care plans focused on wellness, skill-building, and positive transitions into adulthood.Provide daily coaching and leadership to Youth Workers and Support Workers to ensure high-quality, coordinated care.Oversee case management responsibilities including documentation, reporting, and communication with families and external partners.Intervene in crisis situations using de-escalation and safety strategies.Promote family involvement and community engagement, helping youth strengthen their natural support networks.Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.

What you bring to the team:

A Diploma or Degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field.3+ years of experience working with marginalized populations, including youth with complex needs.1+ year of experience managing case files or individualized care plans.Knowledge and experience with trauma-informed, harm reduction, resiliency, and strength-based approaches.Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.Experience supporting youth with barriers such as substance use, poverty, mental health challenges, or involvement in the child welfare system.A collaborative and empathetic communication style that fosters trust and teamwork.Certifications in First Aid/CPR, Suicide Intervention, Trauma-Informed Care, De-escalation, Medication Administration, WHMIS, and Food Safety (required).Valid driver's license, vehicle, $2 million liability insurance, and clear Police and Intervention Record Checks.
