Duties

  • Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service to enhance their shopping experience
  • Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently for transactions, returns, and exchanges
  • Assist customers with product demos and answer questions about merchandise to promote sales
  • Maintain attractive product displays through merchandising and regular stock replenishment
  • Stock shelves, organize back stock, and ensure aisles are clean and accessible
  • Support upselling initiatives by suggesting complementary products to customers
  • Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and retail math calculations
  • Provide friendly phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
  • Conduct product demonstrations to educate customers about features and benefits
  • Assist with inventory management by stocking new merchandise and conducting periodic inventory counts
  • Support store cleanliness and organization to create an inviting shopping environment
  • Collaborate with team members to meet sales goals and deliver excellent customer service

Qualifications

  • Previous retail experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with diverse customers
  • Basic math skills for cash handling, register operations, and retail math calculations
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, walk throughout the store, and lift moderate loads as needed
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus to better serve our diverse customer base
  • Experience with POS systems or familiarity with grocery store operations is advantageous
  • Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
  • Supervising experience is beneficial for those interested in leadership opportunities during the season
  • Knowledge of merchandising standards and stock management practices is helpful
