Big Data Lead (12+ Years Experience)

Location: Hybrid / Client Site as Needed

Type: Full-Time

We're looking for an experienced Big Data Lead who brings deep hands-on expertise across modern cloud data ecosystems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex data problems, mentoring junior engineers, and delivering scalable enterprise-grade data solutions.

Primary Skills

  • 12+ years of IT experience focused on Data Warehousing, ETL, and end-to-end data engineering.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud, including:
  • Azure Databricks
  • Azure Data Factory (ADF)
  • Azure Synapse Analytics
  • Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)
  • Advanced proficiency in PySpark and Python for scalable data processing.
  • Ability to interpret business requirements and convert them into:
  • Design documents
  • Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM)
  • Technical specification documentation
  • Skilled in building large-scale, reusable, and optimized data pipelines.
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers across delivery teams.

Secondary Skills

  • Experience with Data Warehousing architectures, performance tuning, and ELT/ETL optimization.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality rules, and lineage tracking.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and version control in data engineering environments.

Relevant technical certifications (Azure Data Engineer, Databricks, DP-203, etc.).

Industry experience in:

  • Banking / Financial Services
  • Risk & Regulatory Reporting
  • Credit Cards / Retail Banking
  • Commercial Banking & Data Operations

Someone who can:

  • Build and optimize enterprise-scale cloud data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including analytics, cloud engineering, and business stakeholders.
  • Work directly from client offices when required.
  • Deliver high-quality, well-documented, and scalable data solutions.
  • Bring passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and cloud-native data development.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $98,237.47-$118,651.28 per year
