We are looking for a
Senior Power BI Developer
for a
4-month contract position, with possible extensions
in
Calgary, Alberta.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Position is available as on-site location. 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week.

Role Description

The ideal candidate will belong to the organization's Business Intelligence team. This role will take over the majority of the day-to-day operational activities around maintaining existing Enterprise reports and may take on tasks of creating smaller requests through service requests relating to existing or new reports. The ideal candidate will create new and or supporting existing Power BI and Tableau reports.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and Developing BI Solutions. Including:
  • Build dashboards, reports, and data visualizations tailored to business needs.
  • Implement BI software and integrate with databases and data warehouses.
  • Creates business requirements and builds analytic solutions following defined reporting standards.
  • Troubleshoots existing solutions, such as business rules, performance and functionality issues. Remediate performance issues on reports as necessary.
  • Support all analytic solutions in production
  • Develops technical documents, test plans and monitors testing activities completed by others.
  • Works with Power BI, Tableau, and Dataiku, focusing on dashboards, scorecards, and KPIs.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer sciences, Information Systems, Business, Engineering or a related discipline
  • Transforming Data with Intelligence (TDWI) Certification is an asset
  • Tableau Desktop Certified Professional is an asset
  • Tableau Server Certified Professional is an asset
  • Proven track record of working with Tableau and Power BI to design and develop reports, dashboards, and score cards including quality assurance and testing
  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups
  • Excellent communication skills – ability to interpret business SME requirements and translate them into technical requirements
  • Pro-active problem solver and friendly team player
  • Ability to follow existing standards, but be flexible enough to create ad-hoc workarounds, if required
  • Using their expertise to voice constructive opinions
  • Working independently while contributing to Team outcomes and goals.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Dataiku is a desired skillset
