Job Title: SAP Functional Consultant – Funds Management, Grants Management, Treasury (FM, GM, TRM)

Contract

Role Overview:

The SAP Functional Consultant will provide functional expertise in FM, GM, and TRM modules, supporting configuration, troubleshooting, testing, documentation, and training activities. You will collaborate with business and vendor teams to ensure successful system adoption and smooth post-go-live operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the hypercare team in triaging support tickets, troubleshooting issues, and defect resolution.
  • Assist PMO with prioritization and implementation of post-go-live items, including configuration changes in S/4HANA.
  • Develop functional specifications for development objects.
  • Review and update test scripts, test cases, and execute tests.
  • Update business process documentation and input into updated policies.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and communication/training materials.
  • Collaborate with Business Process Leads and vendor teams for SAP solution design, development, and integration.
  • Provide SAP expertise to the FM, GM, TRM teams and identify process improvements leveraging standard SAP functionality.
  • Validate proposed functionality and alignment with leading practices.
  • Provide leadership in business processes, accounting principles, systems configuration, enhancements, and data integration.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 10+ years hands-on experience in large-scale projects/programs in government or large private organizations.
  • Strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA modules: Funds Management, Grants Management, Treasury. Knowledge of Finance, Controlling, Asset Accounting, Accounts Payable, Project Systems is a plus.
  • SAP Certification in FM, GM, TRM is an asset.
  • Experience in hypercare/support post-go-live phase, including troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • At least 2 full end-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementations (public sector experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of test methodologies and project management approaches (Agile, Waterfall, SAP Activate, PMBOK).
  • Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager Change Request is a plus.
  • Strong process management, risk control, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable interacting with business partners, leadership, and vendors.
  • Critical thinking and strategic planning capabilities.

Deliverables:

  • Functional specifications and development object documentation.
  • Test plans, cases, user stories, and results documentation.
  • Documentation for unit, functional, integration, system, regression, and UAT testing.
  • Process and configuration documentation.
  • Key decision and options documents to support project leadership.
  • Input for training and sustainment model.
  • Documentation of risks and issues.
