Main Responsibilities

  • Proactively source, price, and issue purchase orders for essential materials, supplies, tools, and equipment rentals to support various projects.
  • Meticulously review quotations to ensure compliance with specifications and expertly submit them for approval.
  • Take charge of issuing and managing purchase orders, including diligent follow-ups, to guarantee timely delivery and efficiently process order confirmations and acknowledgements.
  • Focus on obtaining savings and competitive prices, perform savings tracking
  • Collaborate effectively with buyers and engage in cross-training to enhance departmental synergy.
  • Coordinate service and subcontract orders with project managers; create POs with a clear scope of work, and follow up with job sites and vendors to manage the order until it is closed.
  • Completing data entry tasks: filling purchase orders, completing order details for buyers, receiving packing slips in Eclipse, and updating the database.
  • Resolve discrepancies with vendor invoices promptly to maintain smooth operations.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive material pricing databases, ensuring that all information and costs remain current.
  • Focus on managing and enhancing areas that need better coordination and organization.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned to support team objectives.

Requirements

  • Experience in the construction industry.
  • Knowledge and experience working with local Electrical vendors.
  • Construction tools, equipment, PPE, and hardware knowledge would be an advantage.
  • Purchasing and/or trade experience
  • Experience in Contracting Industry an asset
  • College Diploma
