Buyer, Mechanical/pipe Fitting

Trade-Mark Industrial Inc., is a leading multi-trade contractor serving mostly South-Western Ontario and several states through the US based sister company.
**Position Summary**:
The Buyer is responsible for the whole buying process to secure products and services in a timely and cost effective manner. The responsibilities range from initiating contact with vendors, establishing pricing agreements, creating and issuing POs, to resolving vendor invoice issues as well as enforcing the company's purchasing policy.
**Main Responsibilities**
- Review and process requisitions and purchase orders of materials, supplies, hardware, tools, misc. items, and services for various projects.
- Sourcing, reviewing quotations for specification compliance, pricing negotiations, obtaining approvals.
- Issue purchase orders and manage open orders, including on-time delivery and expediting as required.
- Focused on obtaining savings and competitive prices.
- Resolve vendor invoicing issues.
- Maintain the system to ensure product details and costs are up to date.
- Manage vendor relationships, building strong relations with key suppliers and tracking performance.
- Develop cost reduction strategies, market analysis, providing recommendations for short
- and long-term sourcing.
- Cross training within purchasing department.
- Coaching and mentoring more junior buying staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical/pipefitting purchasing experience.
- Knowledge and experience working with local mechanical and pipe fitting suppliers.
- Experience in the Contracting Industry an asset.
- Experience managing inventory an asset.
- College Diploma is an asset.
