Volatus Aerospace is establishing Canada's first sovereign MALE (Medium‑Altitude Long‑Endurance) RPAS capability through the development and production of three newly acquired aircraft platforms. We are building a world‑class RPAS Innovation & Manufacturing Hub in Mirabel to support the Canadian Armed Forces, NATO allies, and global dual‑use markets.

We are seeking a Full‑Stack Web Developer (Contract) to support the short‑term development of a secure, cloud‑hosted web application in support of internal programs and operational initiatives. This contract role will focus on hands‑on software development, contributing to the design, implementation, and deployment of application features that support scenario configuration, spatial interaction, and time‑based simulations. The role will work closely with engineering and program stakeholders and is critical to delivering reliable, usable software within a defined project timeline.

Summary of the Role:

Volatus Aerospace Manufacturing is seeking a Full-Stack Web Developer to support the design, implementation, and deployment of a secure, cloud-hosted, web-based application. This is a contract role with an expected duration of approximately two to three months. The application will feature an interactive, map-centric user interface that allows authenticated users to configure scenarios, interact with spatial elements, and run time-based simulations. The role involves hands-on contribution across frontend and backend development, cloud deployment, user authentication, and data persistence, with an emphasis on clean implementation, usability, reliability, and independent delivery of end-to-end features.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop an interactive, map-centric web application using modern frontend technologies
  • Implement frontend components using JavaScript or TypeScript and modern frameworks such as React
  • Integrate and work with map libraries (e.g., Leaflet, MapLibre, Mapbox)
  • Build and consume REST APIs
  • Implement user authentication and secure access controls
  • Develop backend services and manage data persistence using cloud-hosted databases
  • Deploy and configure the application within a cloud environment, preferably AWS
  • Produce basic technical documentation to support application maintenance and handover

Requirements (Entry to Mid-Level)

  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience in full-stack web development
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React or similar
  • Hands-on experience with map libraries (Leaflet, MapLibre, Mapbox, or equivalent)
  • Experience building and consuming REST APIs
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS
  • Experience or familiarity to AWS authentication services
  • Experience or familiarity to API services
  • Experience or familiarity to cloud-hosted database solutions
  • Understanding of user authentication and secure application design
  • Ability to work independently and deliver end-to-end features
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
