The Role:

While under the supervision of a licensed Millwright, the Millwright Apprentice is responsible for the repair and maintenance of processing and packaging equipment to ensure ongoing, cost-effective operations, in a continuous operations, multi-shift environment.

What you get to do:

  • Repair and maintain packaging equipment and high-speed PLC-controlled equipment
  • Repair and maintain processing and material handling equipment
  • Carry out requirements of Preventative Maintenance programs
  • Perform facility repairs as required

 What you bring to the role: 

  • OSSD, or equivalent
  • Completed Level 1 of the Millwright Apprenticeship program 
  • Registered as an Industrial Millwright Apprentice with Skilled Trades Ontario
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing or GMP environment 
  • Detail-oriented with excellent mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to take verbal and written instructions and to communicate effectively
  • Familiarity with the following equipment is an asset: IMA, Mespic, Hayssen 

 Other important information:

  • The current shift pattern is a 5-day x 8 hour MAD Rotation:
    • Midnight     11:00PM-7:30AM
    • Afternoon   3:00PM-11:30PM
    • Day :00AM-3:30PM
