At First Student, safety and reliability are at the heart of everything we do.Position Overview:We are currently seeking a 3rd or 4th year Apprentice Mechanic – Technician (310T) to join our Ajax maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment while working toward your Truck and Coach Technician certification.Responsibilities:Assist licensed mechanics in performing inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on school buses and fleet vehicles.Conduct preventative maintenance and minor repairs under supervision.Learn and apply safety procedures and standards in a shop environment.Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.Participate in ongoing training and development.Support the team in maintaining a clean and organized shop.Requirements:Registered as a 310T Apprentice in Ontario (3rd or 4th year preferred).Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding of vehicle systems.Willingness to learn and grow within the role.Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.Valid Ontario driver’s license (Class G required; Class B or willingness to obtain is an asset).What We Offer:Competitive hourly wage based on experience and apprenticeship level.Opportunities for advancement and certification support.Comprehensive training and mentorship from experienced technicians.A safe, inclusive, and supportive work environment.Access to tools and equipment required for the role.
