DUTIES

Reporting to the Associate Dean of Health, a Bachelor of Nursing Instructor is required to teach in the Bachelor of Nursing program in

Thompson. The successful candidate will be committed to excellence in teaching and promoting an interdisciplinary approach to care. In

addition to teaching duties, the instructor will be responsible for classroom management, student supervision and advising, maintenance of

student records and grades, curriculum review/development, and other administrative tasks. The instructors will also assist with assigned

activities including University College promotion, student recruitment, and various program administrative functions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Nursing (BN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

  • Active CRNM membership with no restrictions
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in nursing
  • Diverse nursing experience, including medical-surgical, gerontology, OBS, mental health, and northern nursing
  • Effective time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Suite
  • Familiarity with issues specific to Indigenous learners and mature students in northern communities
  • Commitment to life-long learning

ASSETS

• Previous instructional experience

  • Familiarity with Mannequin based simulation and/or VR simulation
  • Familiarity with curriculum development and delivery
  • Ability to speak an Indigenous language
