The Opportunity: The Dzee Ba'yugh Culture and Life Skills Worker responsible for carrying culturally based programming to the clients at the Dzee Ba'yugh (Heart House). As part of the Dzee Ba'yugh team, the Culture & Life Skills Worker supports the delivery of culturally appropriate, healing, and aftercare programs and services to individuals who attend the Heart House.

  • Contributes to the development, implementation, and evaluation of healing plans in conjunction with the client, family, Clinical Counselling staff if appropriate, and other helping agencies while establishing and maintaining relationships based on respect.
  • Provides and facilitates cultural healing activities per our Carrier and Sekani teachings and traditions.
  • Supports clients in enhancing basic life skills.
  • In conjunction with the Safe House Support Workers, support clients in finding long-term stable housing, accessing social support and employment programs.

What You Will Bring to The Role:

  • A certificate or diploma in Indigenous Studies, or a similar field, from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Experience working in First Nations organizations.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Wage Range: The target hiring range for this position is $31.227 to $ per hour. Candidates will typically be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the wage range. Placement within the wage range is dependent on the applicants' role specific knowledge, skills, abilities, related experience and in consideration of factors such as market conditions and internal equity.
