Highroad Excavating Ltd. is a well-established civil construction and trucking company serving the Lower Mainland and Okanagan. We specialize in underground utilities, site servicing, grading, and bulk excavation. Our team takes pride in producing high-quality work safely, efficiently, and with a strong sense of teamwork and accountability.

Position Overview

We're looking for a hands-on Civil Foreman to lead crews on underground utility and site servicing projects. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, the ability to read and interpret drawings, and a proven track record of managing production, safety, and quality in the field.

You'll be directly involved in day-to-day operations — coordinating with site supervisors, operators, and labourers to ensure projects run smoothly and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee civil crews on underground utility and site servicing projects
  • Coordinate daily work plans, equipment, and materials with project management
  • Read and interpret civil drawings, grades, and specifications
  • Monitor safety compliance and conduct daily toolbox meetings
  • Track progress, production, and material quantities
  • Liaise with clients, inspectors, and subcontractors professionally
  • Operate equipment when required to maintain production and assist crew

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in civil construction with 2+ years in a supervisory or foreman role
  • Strong understanding of underground utilities, grading, and site layout
  • Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and grade stakes
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and safe work procedures
  • Valid Class 5 driver's licence (Class 1 or 3 an asset)
  • Reliable, organized, and proactive approach to problem-solving

Compensation & Benefits

  • $38–$45/hr, depending on experience and project scope
