HVAC Operations Manager – Service

The Story

What You'll Do

• Meet with clients to assess HVAC and mechanical needs and translate them into accurate estimates.
• Lead both service and install teams while managing schedules, workloads, and productivity.
• Oversee budgets, margins, and project timelines to ensure every job runs profitably and safely.
• Maintain safety compliance and uphold our reputation for clean, high-quality work.
• Collaborate directly with ownership to streamline processes, implement technology, and drive continuous improvement.
• Split your time between office, field, and client meetings. No two weeks will look the same.

Technical Knowledge

• You don't need to be a master of everything, but you should speak the language of HVAC systems:
• HVAC systems (residential and commercial)
• Refrigeration
• DDC (Direct Digital Controls)
• Hydronic systems
• Plumbing and piping
• Electrical fundamentals
• Sheet metal systems
• Financial literacy (budgets, margins, quoting)
• HR and legal basics for team leadership
• Familiarity with IT tools and service management software

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the HVAC industry, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
• Proven ability to work with a skilled crew and make great technicians even better.
• Strong understanding of pricing, sales strategies, and operational budgeting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with HVAC service software and Microsoft Office Suite would be an asset
• Valid driver's license
