The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Supervisor/Programmer, Active Living, this casual position is responsible for the testing and operating of all fitness equipment, assisting with the supervision and daily maintenance of the fitness facility, and engaging with participants to promote a positive experience and ensuring everyone's safety.

  • Maintain Fieldhouse cleanliness
  • Test and operate all equipment, when possible, record and report any malfunctioning equipment immediately
  • Monitor traffic flow in the Fieldhouse and all Fitness Rooms
  • Certified Personal Trainers are required to guide patrons through proper exercise mechanics as required for their safety and educate patrons regarding weight room etiquette.
  • Certified Personal Trainers will conduct group adult and youth orientations on equipment as required
  • Maintain high visibility and be available for facility patrons
  • Perform administrative tasks (i.e., attendance, preparation, injury, and Incident Reports etc.)
  • Attend team meetings and training sessions
  • Assist in providing a clean, healthy, safe environment for the program and ensure equipment is stored as required

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking an active professional with Current Standard First Aid with CPR- C, with experience and knowledge with strength and cardio conditioning equipment. Certified Personal Training (Can Fit Pro or equivalent) certification would be an asset.

The candidate will have demonstrated excellent customer service skills, verbal and written communication skills, organization skills with attention to detail. This candidate will also possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
