The IMIT team is looking for enthusiastic First Nations, Inuit or Metis students to join our team. Title:
First Nations Student Program - Business Intelligence & Data Warehouse Student

Contract:
4 Months – (Cohorts run: January to April, May to August, and September to December)

Hours:
Casual – 37.5 hours (Mon-Fri 8:30 – 4:30)

Location:
Alberni office (Metro Vancouver) location on the ancestral Coast Salish Territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations – Hybrid - (Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA's flex work policy).

About The Role
As the Business Intelligence & Data Warehouse Student, you will build, implement, and maintain ETL's (extract transform, and load). You will also develop data catalogue categories, tags, and be defined by the team's lead and manager. As well as you will Identify, document, review and configure BI/DW solutions. Additionally, you will Develop procedures and documentations for user support and service desk reference/support.

About You
Education

  • Must be currently enrolled in 3rd or 4th year BC post-secondary program in the field of computer science or a related discipline

Experience

  • Previous work experience in the field considered an asset

Knowledge

  • Solid knowledge of current internet technologies
  • Computer skills, MSSQL 2013 (and higher) experience, basic knowledge about Active Directory
  • Knowledge of designing and implementing MS SQL Server databases advanced T-SQL and scripting methods
  • Knowledge and understanding of BI tools (MS SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), MS SQL ServerIntegration Services (SSIS))
  • Thorough knowledge on database design methodologies, functional dependencies, normalization, entityrelationship modelling
  • Understanding of software development methodologies and lifecycle
  • Strong analytical skills, research, writing and communication skills
  • Intermediate knowledge about Tableau, and Power BI for visualization purposes
  • Basic knowledge on Data Catalogue concept
  • Intermediate knowledge of programming languages, such as C#, and Python
  • Basic Knowledge of R language to interpret scripts considered a good to have
  • Is a team player with a strong customer service orientation and diplomacy while dealing with multiplestakeholders

The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level. Internal employee compensation will be determined as per the FNHA Employee Total Compensation Policy.
