About The Role
With a strong view to providing access to culturally safe, high quality care closer to home, FNHA launched 2 virtual service pathways in 2020: 1) The First Nations Virtual Doctor of the Day (FNvDOD), and 2) The First Nations Virtual Substance Use and Psychiatry Service (FNvSUPS). These two services currently provide virtual access to primary care, substance use, and mental health services. Following the success of our first 2 years of service provision, FNHA is expanding the services and staffing mix for both pathways to further strengthen and grow the quality and capacity of the closer-to-home services we offer for Indigenous people and their family members living in BC.
Working within an innovative and growing virtual team-based care environment, the FNvDOD Primary Care Nurse is a key role and a collaborative leader within our virtual team-based environment. The FNvDOD Primary Care Nurse works with the multi-disciplinary team to provide client centered, culturally safe and trauma-informed direct virtual primary care services to clients at all life stages.
