Job Summary

We are seeking a versatile and patient-focused Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) who is skilled in phlebotomy, capable of clinical triage, and experienced in medical office administrative duties. This role supports both the clinical and administrative operations of the clinic, ensuring high-quality patient care, accurate laboratory services, and efficient front-office workflow.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Laboratory Duties

  • Perform phlebotomy (venipuncture, capillary draws) on adult and pediatric patients following safety and infection-control protocols

  • Collect, label, process, and prepare specimens

  • Maintain laboratory equipment, perform quality control, and document results accurately

Patient Triage & Clinical Support

  • Conduct patient triage, including vital signs, medical history intake, and chief complaint documentation

  • Identify urgent or emergent patient needs and communicate appropriately to providers

  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during clinical procedures as needed

  • Educate patients on specimen collection, test procedures, and follow-up instructions

Medical Office Administration

  • Manage patient check-in and check-out, appointment scheduling, and phone inquiries

  • Verify insurance, collect co-pays, and assist with billing-related documentation

  • Maintain accurate and confidential electronic medical records (EMR/EHR)

  • Coordinate referrals, lab results, and communication between providers and patients

  • Support daily clinic operations, including inventory management and supply ordering

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or equivalent program

Phlebotomy certification
or equivalent and demonstrated competency

  • Knowledge of clinical triage procedures and basic patient assessment

  • Experience with medical office administration and EMR systems

  • Strong understanding of patient confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid licensure or certification as required

  • Prior experience in outpatient clinics, urgent care, or primary care settings

  • Experience with insurance verification and medical billing workflows
