Building Location: West Duluth Clinic Department: 2222200 GENERAL RADIOLOGY - WEST Job Description: Join Essentia Health's Diagnostic Imaging and Lab Team We are seeking an X-Ray Operator to join our team and support our Imaging and Lab departments at our West Duluth, Hermantown, Lakewalk, Proctor and Lakeside Clinics. Provide optimal patient care utilizing established and accepted techniques during administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic imaging appropriate for the age of the patient population (ages 0 to death). Upon proven competency, operators are limited by the exams they can perform on small children and babies. Evaluation of abilities is approved and documented by a manager or QA Tech. Safe transfers of patients to and from wheelchairs/carts with knowledge of safe handoff. Assist with department workflow by completing exams in EPIC/PACS and cleaning/stocking exam rooms. Follow instruction from staff technologists and establish good communication with other departments. Collect specimens through venipuncture or capillary skin puncture and other miscellaneous specimens (Urine, swabs, etc.). Perform specimen processing and handling according to testing requirements to support clinical laboratory testing. Perform laboratory testing, when applicable, per accreditation and licensure requirements. Participate in training of new employees, students, and other personnel as appropriate. Follow Essentia Health rules and policies while handling specimens and equipment to ensure safety and quality. Educational Requirements: High School Diploma. Graduate from a Medical Laboratory Assistant Program or complete an internal MLA training program within 1 year of hire. Preferred Requirements: Valid MN Department of Health X-ray Operator certificate. Licensure/Certification Qualifications: Minnesota: Valid MN Department of Health X-ray Operator certificate within one year of hire or transfer. Wisconsin: Current Limited X-ray machine operator permit through the Wisconsin Society of Radiologic Technologists within one year of hire or transfer. North Dakota: Current Limited X-ray Machine Operator licensure through the North Dakota Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board (NDBMIRT). FTE: 1 Possible Remote/Hybrid Option: Possible Remote/Hybrid Option. Shift Rotation: Day/Eve Rotation (United States of America). Shift Start Time: Day/Evening. Shift End Time: Day/Eveing.
