Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting pharmacists in delivering high-quality patient care. This position involves assisting with medication preparation, patient intake, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations. Experience in LTC pharmacy, critical care, or hospital settings is highly desirable.

Duties

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
  • Support patient service initiatives by providing excellent customer care and addressing patient inquiries.
  • Participate in the intake process, gathering necessary information from patients for medication management.
  • Utilize aseptic technique to prepare IV infusions and other sterile products as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of medication administration and ensure proper documentation of patient interactions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and medication safety.
  • Stay informed about medical terminology and pharmacy practices to enhance service delivery.
  • Assist in inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and organizing pharmaceutical supplies.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician or in a related healthcare role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with LTC pharmacy practices and acute care environments is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and critical care processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional patient service and support patient care initiatives.
  • Knowledge of IV infusion preparation and aseptic techniques is highly desirable.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in medication handling.
