Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Hotel General Manager to oversee the daily operations of the Wingate by Wyndham Fort Saskatchewan. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the overall operation and success of the hotel, ensuring guest satisfaction and efficient management of all departments. The ideal candidate will lead the strategic direction of the hotel, manage staff, oversee finances, and ensure compliance with regulations and company policies, and will play a key role in marketing, sales, and maintaining a positive reputation for the hotel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management: Overseeing all aspects of hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, maintenance, and security.
  • Financial Management: Managing budgets, revenue targets, and profitability of the hotel.
  • Staff Management: Recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising hotel staff, including department heads.
  • Guest Relations: Ensuring guest satisfaction, handling complaints, and resolving issues related to bookings and billing.
  • Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing strategies to improve hotel performance, increase revenue, and enhance guest experience.
  • Marketing and Sales: Developing and executing marketing plans to attract guests and promote the hotel.
  • Compliance: Ensuring the hotel adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Quality Control: Maintaining high standards of service and product quality throughout the hotel.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Building and maintaining positive relationships with guests, employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Building Management: Overseeing the physical building and related maintenance and repairs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in hotel management or a similar role within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong financial acumen with understanding of budgeting, financial planning and revenue management.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Experience in training & development programs for staff enhancement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with guests, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of inventory control processes to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
  • Previous supervisory experience in hospitality management is preferred.
  • Familiarity or previous experience working with the Wyndham Hotels brand will be an asset.
  • Pool Certification, First Aid Certification and other Industry related certifications will be highly considered.
  • A strong commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences.

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
