Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children. This role involves working closely with children aged 0-5 years, implementing programs as a member of a team, to provide a quality day care experience for children and their parents, based on current child development knowledge and appropriate Early Childhood practices.

Duties

  • Work as an effective team member in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a stimulating, nurturing and safe environment that enhances the total development of each child.
  • Interact with the children in ways that promotes self-confidence, language skills, curiosity and a desire to learn.
  • Interact with children in kind, caring and respectful ways.
  • Plan a variety of responsive experiences, supported by observations, to foster the holistic play-based goals (Well-Being, Play and Playfulness, Communication and Literacies, and Diversity and Social Responsibility), child development and interests.
  • Use observations to intentionally plan a variety of responsive experiences in all areas of play, based on children's interests and needs daily.
  • Engage in play with children in the co-construction of knowledge (co-learner, co-researcher, and co-imaginer of possibilities).
  • Initiate play with a variety of activities, materials, or provocations that stimulate thinking, growth, and development.
  • Be knowledgeable of and carry out the Early Learning and Child Care Regulations as per the Early Learning and Child Care Act.
  • Use approach and strategies that recognize equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Qualifications

  • Early Childhood Certification level 1
  • Police Clearance with Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Child Intervention Check
  • First Aid

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.21-$29.08 per hour
