The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring hospice or dementia care. This role involves delivering personalized care with professionalism, patience, and empathy to promote independence and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Provide patient care including medication administration and health monitoring
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe and comfortable environment
- Support clients with mobility and transfer assistance, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Document care provided and communicate effectively with family members and healthcare professionals
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times, especially when working with individuals with dementia or disabilities
Requirements
- Experience in assisted living, nursing home care, or home care preferred
- Knowledge of patient care, dementia care, hospice care, and working with people with disabilities is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs
- Strong caregiving skills combined with compassion and patience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Valid certification or training in medication administration is a plus but not mandatory
- Excellent communication skills and a genuine desire to help others
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; reliability is essential
