Job Overview

We are seeking a vigilant and dedicated Security Guard to ensure the safety and security of our premises, personnel, and assets. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring activities, preventing loss, and maintaining a secure environment through proactive surveillance and enforcement of safety protocols. This role requires a strong sense of responsibility, excellent observation skills, and the ability to respond effectively to incidents.

Duties

  • Conduct regular patrols of the facility to monitor for suspicious activity or safety hazards.
  • Monitor surveillance equipment such as CCTV cameras to oversee all areas of the property.
  • Enforce security policies and procedures to prevent theft, vandalism, or unauthorized access.
  • Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, or incidents, and coordinate with law enforcement if necessary.
  • Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and security breaches.
  • Assist visitors and employees by verifying identification and providing directions or assistance as needed.
  • Conduct security checks on entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with loss prevention teams to identify potential theft or fraudulent activity.

Experience

  • Prior experience in law enforcement, security services, or related fields is preferred.
  • Knowledge of surveillance techniques and CCTV operation is highly desirable.
  • Strong observational skills with the ability to identify potential threats quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective reporting and incident response.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergency situations professionally. This position offers an opportunity to be an integral part of maintaining a safe environment while utilizing your security expertise in a dynamic setting.
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence (Mandatory)
  • Physically fit and able to stand/walk for extended periods
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Strong observational and communication skills
  • Ability to remain alert, focused, and proactive during quiet hours
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional appearance
  • Ability to write clear and detailed reports
  • Previous construction site experience is an asset but not required
  • Must be able to work independently and handle site responsibilities with minimal supervision

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.60-$18.25 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
