This job posting is for an existing vacancy and is intended to fill a current position within our organization. 

We are currently looking for a Community Navigator (Francophone) to join our team of committed professionals.This Full-Time Contract position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario's Elm Street location in Sudbury.

This position is responsible for improving access to services for Francophone clients and reducing language and cultural barriers that may prevent successful integration and employment outcomes. This position is responsible for the coordination and achievement of program targets and priorities while adhering to the YMCA Continues Improvement Model.  

START DATE:  ASAP

LOCATION: Elm Street, Sudbury ON

RATE OF PAY:    $56,244.02 / Annually

HOURS:    40 Hours Weekly 

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

Post-secondary education in Social Work, Human Services, Community Development, or a related fieldValid G class driver's license and access to a vehicleCollege diploma or University degree in social sciences or related fieldFluency in French and English (spoken and written) is requiredMinimum of two (2) years of experience in personal and/or vocational counsellingExperience working with marginalized populations, particularly Francophone communities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills (in French and English)Excellent communication, interpersonal, and cultural competency skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and client database systems.Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, as needed.Current and Satisfactory Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop programming to support Francophone clients who face language or system navigation barriersOffer individualized, culturally and linguistically adapted support throughout the path to employmentDevelop local strategies to attract, welcome and retain French-speaking job seekersEnsure that all tools, communications and resources are accessible in FrenchAssist clients in understanding and accessing employment and settlement services offered by the organization and its partnersProvide one-on-one support to Francophone clients to assess needs and connect them with appropriate services (e.g., housing, healthcare, employment, language training, legal aid, etc.)Facilitate referrals to internal programs and external community resources in both French and EnglishEnsure an active offer of French-language services across all programsAlign with provincial performance, quality and accountability requirementsTrack results and achievements and prepare/present reports for the management teamDevelop and maintain strong relationships with Francophone community organizations, service providers, and stakeholdersAdvocate for Francophone clients to help them overcome systemic barriers to access due to language or cultural differences
