Toronto, Ontario, Canada CSC Generation Full time US$70,000 - US$120,000 per year

CSC Generation is the AI-native holding company re-engineering omni-channel retail. We acquire iconic brands and transform them with Genesis—our operating platform unifying a Data Fabric, Automation Engine, proprietary tools, and shared services—to modernize operations, elevate customer experience, and expand margins.

With $1B+ in revenue across 13 brands, our portfolio includes Sur La Table, Backcountry, One Kings Lane, and more—premier home and outdoor banners that double as real-world innovation hubs. CSC Generation continues to grow through M&A, revitalizing companies with strong brand recognition and loyal customers.

We're redefining what it means to build a world-class technical recruiting team. Instead of relying solely on traditional recruiters, we're opening the door to entry-level engineers or computer science graduates who want to stay close to the technology—but leverage their skills in a different, people-heavy, impact-driven career.

This role blends technical ability, analytical thinking, and relationship-building. If you have foundational programming knowledge, enjoy problem-solving, and are energized by helping others grow their careers, this is an opportunity to pivot into a path with significant leadership and growth potential.

You will use your technical foundation daily—reviewing coding assessments, evaluating technical aptitude, partnering with engineering teams, and advising candidates—while building expertise in hiring strategy and talent evaluation.

What you get to do:
  • Technical Evaluation (40%)
  • Review and score coding challenges, technical assessments, and engineering take-home projects.
  • Assist hiring managers in evaluating technical aptitude for software engineering, data, product, and infrastructure roles.
  • Develop an understanding of our tech stack and the skill sets necessary for each engineering position.
  • Help refine and evolve our technical assessment process.
Full-Cycle Recruiting (40%)
  • Own the candidate pipeline from sourcing to offer for various technical roles.
  • Conduct phone screens and assess candidate fit using both technical and behavioral criteria.
  • Partner closely with engineering leaders to understand team needs and role requirements.
  • Craft compelling outreach and maintain a high-quality candidate experience.
Talent Strategy & Operations (20%)
  • Analyze hiring funnel data to improve conversion and speed.
  • Recommend new tools, platforms, or approaches to attract technical talent.
  • Contribute to employer branding efforts targeting the engineering community.
  • Support recruiting operations, documentation, and process enhancements.
What you bring:
  • You have an engineering, computer science, or technical background (degree or equivalent practical experience).
  • You enjoy technical work but are seeking a role with more communication, influence, and people impact.
  • You understand basic coding concepts (structures, algorithms, debugging, problem-solving) even if you don't want to code professionally.
  • You're curious, detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable evaluating technical problems.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy building relationships.
  • Coursework or internship experience in software engineering, data, product, or IT.
  • Prior exposure to interviewing, mentoring, tutoring, or evaluating technical work.
  • Familiarity with coding challenges, GitHub projects, or algorithm problem-solving.
Why this role is unique:
  • A path for engineers who don't want to code all day—yet want to stay connected to technology.
  • A blended career track: technical expertise + people strategy + recruiting operations.
  • Massive growth potential in technical recruiting, recruiting leadership, people strategy, or even returning to engineering with far deeper business context.
  • Direct exposure to engineering teams, CTO orgs, and executive hiring strategy.
What's in it for you? Joining CSC Generation isn't just about having a seat at the table—it's about helping redesign the table entirely. You'll be challenged, stretched, and supported as you grow faster than you thought possible. In addition to competitive compensation, we offer:
  • Executive Access: Work directly with brand CEOs and senior leadership, solving real business problems and earning mentorship from top operators.
  • AI-First Skill Building: Get hands-on with the most advanced AI tools in the market. From automation to prompt engineering, you'll build a modern tech stack that sets you apart in any industry.
  • Accelerated Career Path: High performers are quickly entrusted with greater responsibility, new challenges, and leadership opportunities across our portfolio of brands.
  • Competitive benefits: Paid time off policies, 401(k)/RRSP match, medical/dental/vision and a variety of supplemental policies, and employee discounts at our portfolio companies.
Our interview process:
  •  Step 1: If you align with our vision and meet the qualifications, we'll reach out to schedule a conversation and introduce CSC.
  •  Step 2: You'll complete a short AI or product-building challenge so we can understand how you approach problems and execution.
  •  Step 3: Participate in deep-dive interviews with CSC leadership focused on your experience, product mindset, and operational thinking.
  •  Step 4: Offer. We'll move fast for the right candidate.
