ADVOCACY PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) is a non-profit human rights organization committed to countering racism and antisemitism and to promoting the principles of tolerance, social justice, and Canadian democratic values through advocacy and education.

THE OPPORTUNITY

FSWC seeks an individual with strong administrative and coordination skills to support the day-to-day operations of the Advocacy Department. As an Advocacy Program Coordinator, you will assist with scheduling, outreach logistics, event and training coordination, and general departmental administration. Your work will help ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of FSWC's advocacy-related activities and trainings across Canada.

YOU WILL

  • Assist with the planning and coordination of advocacy-related trainings and department events, including managing registration, sending confirmations, preparing materials, and handling follow-up communications.
  • Support the logistics of both in-person and virtual programming (e.g., booking spaces, arranging tech needs, coordinating Zoom links, managing attendance lists).
  • Assist with outreach logistics, such as maintaining contact lists, drafting simple outreach emails, and distributing program information to stakeholders.
  • Maintain calendars, databases, and department records to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Track departmental finances, including invoices, expenses, reimbursements, and budget-related documentation, and maintain organized financial records for the department.
  • Support other FSWC staff as required leading up to and during major annual organizational events.

YOU ARE SOMEONE WITH

  • Strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple administrative tasks simultaneously.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort interacting professionally with a variety of stakeholders.
  • The ability to work efficiently, solve practical problems, and support a busy department with competing timelines.
  • Working knowledge of issues related to antisemitism, both historical and contemporary.
  • Comfort using technology and navigating various digital platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Excel, etc.).
  • Self-motivation, adaptability, and sound judgement when managing day-to-day tasks.
  • A commitment to countering antisemitism and supporting human rights education and advocacy.

COMPENSATION

·     Salary commensurate with experience.

LOCATION AND TERMS OF WORK

·     This is a full time position during regular business hours at our office in North Toronto, with work-from-home flexibility on Fridays.
