Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Whistler, BC, for a Zero Waste Program Manager. The role involves leading and managing zero waste initiatives, collaborating with community stakeholders and local organizations, and conducting outreach programs to promote waste reduction and responsible waste management. Additional responsibilities include developing strategies, monitoring program progress, collecting waste-related data, and creating educational materials to strengthen community awareness of zero waste principles.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience in waste management practices, sustainability, and environmental conservation
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple initiatives and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in communication, outreach, education, and stakeholder engagement
  • Analytical and data management skills for tracking program impact and measuring waste reduction
  • Ability to work effectively on-site and collaborate with team members, volunteers, and local partners
  • Familiarity with local or regional environmental policies related to waste management is an asset
  • Passion for environmental sustainability and creating positive impacts in the community
  • Post-secondary education in Environmental Studies, Sustainability, or a related field is highly advantageous
